Our Supply Chain
Our Birch core plywood comes from the closest and most responsibly accredited mills in Europe that we can access, with much coming from the Baltics, Latvia, and Finland. These regions are heavily regulated and managed responsibly.
Our Oak Veener comes from a local North London manufacturer. They build the oak veneered sheets up from the raw materials in their workshop and have entirely aligned their practice with our responsibility guidelines. This means they can tell us exactly what goes into making our sheet material too!
Marmoleum, Forbo’s brand of linoleum that we use, is made from 97% natural raw materials and contains 43% recycled content. It contains no phthalates, no plasticisers, and no mineral oil. The key raw materials used in Marmoleum production include linseed oil, wood flour, and jute. It’s also finished with Topshield, an antibacterial, which means it is hygienic and needs less cleaning with less harmful chemicals.
Materials and Finish
We don’t just use Oak veneer for its beauty. By using oak veneer in most of our products, we help to reduce the demand for natural wood resources. The material offers the beauty of a real wood finish, all whilst using far less precious timber.
We cut all our products from large sheets, and utilise as much of the material as possible. This significantly reduces the amount of wood needed to produce one of our products and reduces our workshop waste.
Likewise, we’ve put a lot of thought into our use of linoleum. Not only does it offer a unique satin matt surface and a warm, fine texture, but it is recyclable, biodegradable and hard-wearing. It’s also low in allergens and is naturally resistant to bacteria and dust mites.
The Brenin dining is protected by a water-based finish that preserves the natural tone of the wood. This finish is the environmentally responsible choice and requires only warm water to clean and maintain. With care, the Brenin table can be enjoyed and passed down for years and years to come.

Looking for a matching bench? If you want it to slide seamlessly between the legs, go for 40cm shorter than the full table length. Similarly, calculate space for chairs in the same way.
