"Customised to the centimetre" has been here since

"Customised to the centimetre" has been here since the beginning of Grain. However, over time we've found that we can do a better job for you the customer and the planet by taking the hard, but responsible approach. Therefore, on Monday this week we moved to a range of many sizes, rather than customised ones, here's the reasons why:

People: Through the last 6 months of research we've found that there are patterns in the furniture sizes people order. Because of this, we have realised that we can provide more value to our customers by offering size variability, based on how people interact with their furniture. Giving the right amount of options, rather than too many.

Planet: Having nearly 42,000 possible combinations available in just one product means it's difficult for us to always be efficient when it comes to how we plan for waste. By reducing this number we can ensure the new sizes we offer will enable us to plan optimal material efficiency to make the most of each sheet of wood and minimise waste.

We will never stop asking ourselves 'how can we be better' for both you and the planet. We want to be responsible for what we do and how we make.
